I use my art as a memory vessel for myself and to expose others in a random way to things I am interested in and fascinated by.

I am interested in the random factor in art the road driven down for the first time. I was told by a spirit medium in Lily Dale, New York that my art has the power to heal. I hope it heals others as I know it has healed myself.

I was born August 7, 1966, in Waxahachie, Texas and my parents named me, Bruce Lee.

My grandparents were missionaries in remote hill stations in the mountains of Kerala, South India during the 1930’s and 40’s and my Mother was born there. The esoteric books and folk art from the Sub-Continent was something I grew up with have always had a pervasive influence on my art and my own collecting.

I got into skateboarding and punk rock in Dallas in the early 1980’s and met my wife Julie, who collaborated on a cut and paste fanzine called Bad Karma. Early drawing was a profile head image that began as a t shirt sharpie drawing in 1982.

Myself, and Lynne Adele completed a book published by University of Texas Press, As Above So Below-Art of the Fraternal Lodge in 2015.

I work everyday and look forward to each new experience with the art.

I have continued to add to the inherited antiquarian books broadening the subjects to include phreneology, spiritualism, hobo lore, the study of the occult, and fraternal history.

We moved to Waxahachie in 1987, opened a shop and further launched our travels and adventures. We met carver Rev. JL Hunter in Dallas in 1988. Shortly after we were obsessed to visit Southern folk and visionary artists. Johnnie Swearingen, Royal Robertson, James Son Thomas, Hector Alonzo Benavides, Hawkins Bolden, Joe Light and so many others have always inspired.

I have worked hard and have been exhibited internationally. It is humbling and an honor to find my work going to collections the world over.
